NEUTRA RESTORATION
Richard Neutra's name is synonymous with Mid-Century Modern architecture, and many of his buildings are considered landmarks of the style. This 1966 structure, one of Neutra's last in the U.S. before he returned to Germany, is preserved as it was when built, showcasing an incredible collection of contemporary art within.
However, the years were not so kind to the exterior and a meticulous restoration was required. The pool was completely restored, the sliding glass doors were made operable once again, all utilities were modernized, and all pavings and surfaces were reinstalled in the original patterns, methods, and materials.
Finally, the addition of a colorful graphic mural by artist Steve Fawley brought the space to life, creating a symbiotic connection with the home’s interior art pieces. The completed restoration has brought new life to the outdoor spaces of this Mid-Century Modern masterpiece.
